• Crosses the Line Twice: Homer performing a scene where his character finds his wife had died in bed? Not funny. Homer pushing the wife off the bed so he can lie down and sing? Hilarious.
• Harsher in Hindsight: The situation with Homer and Julia, where a female subordinate has sexual desire towards the male celebrity she’s working under, can be uncomfortable in light of the #MeToo movement.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Homer, playing Rodolfo in La Bohème explains that he hurt his foot to explain why he is lying on his back. Years later, FOX would produce a version of RENT (which is based on La Bohème) that was intended to be aired live, but the actor playing Roger (who is based on Rodolfo) actually did break his foot during the dress rehearsal. Rather than have him lie on his back for the live performance, they instead aired the pre-taped dress rehearsal.
