- Crazy Is Cool: Despite not quite mastering his character's suaveness, Daffy actually manages to goof his way through the heroic role. In his autobiography Chuck Amuck, Jones mentioned he was at a loose end with the closing to the short since he realised Daffy was actually winning. Counts as Characterization Marches On, considering his blatant Failure Hero role in all later shorts.
- Heartwarming Moment: There's a brief scene where Daffy woos Melissa after they both flee the wedding. It's actually quite sweet.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: This cartoon stands out for its All-Star Cast, having nearly every key Looney Tunes star except Bugs Bunny, a very characteristic casting choice for Daffy come the following year.
- Nightmare Fuel: During the chase, Sylvester manages to corner Melissa in an upstairs bedroom of the Ye King's Nostril Inn (where the Scarlet Pumpernickel has taken Melissa after escaping the wedding). As she screams for the Scarlet Pumpernickel, Sylvester delivers a chilling Evil Laugh and his shadow approaches. One of the few times when it's played straight.
