YMMV / The Muppet Show S 4 E 17

Go To

  • Fridge Brilliance: Luke refuses to be part of "a third rate variety show". Really, Luke? (Admittedly, this might have been part of the joke, since this episode was filmed almost a year after that unfortunate incident.)
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • The closing number, in which The Muppets and the Star Wars cast sing "When You Wish Upon a Star" against a Disneyland-like backdrop, is funnier now that Disney owns both franchises.
    • Luke Skywalker being Mark Hamill's cousin inadvertently foreshadows Star Wars' famed family revelations mere months before The Empire Strikes Back was released (Luke is even wearing the costume he wears during that reveal).
      • Speaking of family revelations, Miss Piggy tries to cozy up to Luke by dressing as Leia, long before Return of the Jedi revealed the two were siblings.
    • Mark demonstrates his ability to do voice imitations in one scene. Many years later, voice acting was to become his bread and butter.
      • Mark decides to show off as a dancing singer before ending it with a bad joke and impression of Fozzie Bear, which didn't get a laugh from Kermit the Frog. Almost like a failed comedian. Even better, his hat and cane does bear reminiscent of Joker's outfit when he sings "I Go Looney".
    • One of the sheep in "Rama-Lama-Ding-Dong" has cream-coloured wool and purple eyes, making her look a lot like a sheep version of Latte.
