The iDOLM@STER YMMV index

  • Fan Nickname: The anime's version of the Producer, similar to all voiced adaptation producers, is named after his voice actor (Genta Nakamura). However, since there are multiple Nakamuras throughout the iDOLM@STER franchise, this Producer is alternatively nicknamed GenP rather than NakamuraP to avoid confusion.
  • Game-Breaker:
    • As expected of a gacha game of this type, the millfes-exclusive cards are by far the strongest ones in terms of base score and overall skill power level, with the June and September 2018 Millfes cards also featuring unique centre skills that are notably stronger than standard SSRs for minimal drawback (they require a full on-type team to work, but mixed-type teams aren't a viable meta set-up in Theater Days to begin with, even in all-type songs).
    • Special mention goes to FES Yayoi, who has a stat total that exceeds 19 thousand at Master Rank 4 with a primary stat (Vocal, in FES Yayoi's case) of 9,601 thanks to Min-Maxing on the developers' part in a game where a normal Master Rank 4 SSR has just over 18k total stat points, with their primary stat generally staying below the below 8,000 mark.
  • Memetic Molester: Kaori Sakuramori is this, when it comes to "taking care" of children.
  • Memetic Loser:
    • As with Chihaya and though in a minor extent: Shizuka's small bust size has also became a source of mockery.
    • Konomi's height is also the source of ridicule.
  • Never Live It Down: Azusa Tadokoro and "Arigathankyou" (when she said "Thank You" instead of "arigatou" during a live performance).
  • Self-Fanservice: In a minor extent: Tsubasa's bust is often drawn in a slightly medium-to-bigger size despite having a bust size of 85.
  • Surprise Difficulty: At 10 years old, Iku Nakatani is the youngest idol in the Million Live cast, so you would expect the songs that she is the center singer for to be the easiest ones in Theater Days, right? Well, about that...
    • Firstly we have ZETTAI X BREAK! Twinkle Rhythm, which is actually somewhat of a subversion. While ZxB is indeed quite a difficult song, due to the way you have to play the song on 6mix at least one before unlocking the hardest Million Mix difficulty, it becomes obvious that this particular song takes cues straight from Babymetal and puts Iku as the lead singer for a fast-paced heavy metal song, making it pretty obvious that the Million Mix version isn't going to be a cakewalk. As it turns out, ZxB is actually one of the easier lv18 difficulty songs once you get used to its fast pace.
    • However, the same cannot be said for her solo song, Animal Station. Animal Station is a fairly upbeat J-pop tune, like various other lv16 and lv17 tunes in the game as of its release. So, what is Animal Station's difficulty level? Lv 19, the first lv19 song that is currently in the game. With no point of reference as to how hard a lv 19 actually is before encountering this song, it's easy to think "how hard can it possibly be?" with the answer being that it easily lives up to its appointed difficulty level, making even Roco's solo look easy in comparison.
    • THE IDOLM@STER-Hatsuboshi mix may seem like a simple New Years remix of THE IDOLM@STER (which is also lv 17 on Million Mix), but it also increases the difficulty immensely with 876 notes.
  • That One Sidequest:
    • Getting all 52 idols' 1st anniversary event cards to Master Rank 4 qualified as thisnote . The first steps are simple enough, if somewhat tedious requiring you to play a live with them as center, a solo live with them as center and acquiring 50 bond points with that character, then reading one of their memorial stories. However, the struggle goes uphill from there. Firstly, you need to perform an Oshigoto with that idol. However, Oshigotos cost stamina, and which idol you encounter in the Oshigoto is random, meaning you could spend all of your stamina only to not encounter the idol your want to raise to Master Rank 4. Secondly, the Oshigoto only counts if you already cleared the first four missions, meaning having an Oshigoto with an idol you haven't cleared missions for yet completely worthless. After you finally get the Oshigoto with the correct idol, you then need to encounter and talk to them in the theater. This is also random, but thankfully it doesn't cost stamina and can be save scummed by repeatedly leaving to the title screen and re-entering. After you done this, you then need to play a certain song with that idol on your team once. However, it's the part after this where the real pain begins. First, you need to awaken (idolize) the card. This isn't too bad by itself, but awaking and special training both require special items that are partially shared. After this comes probably the most painful part of all. you have to raise the anniversary card's skill level to 5. This step is a massive drain to even a veteran player's resources, requiring around 40 R tickets per idol. And there's 52 idols in total, meaning you will need over two thousand R tickets to get everyone's anniversary card to skill level 5. When you finally have your girl's anniversary card skilled up, the last step before making her a SSR is simply to grind 200 more bond points with her. After this, you can *finally* make your idol's anniversary card a SSR ...provided you have enough awakening materials to perform all of the special training required, and special training requires significantly more of these resources than simply awakening a card normally would, putting another roadblock to new and even intermediate players' progress on the mission on top of the R tickets.
  • That One Level: Theater Days has a few, but the most infamous example is IMPRESSION→LOCOMOTION on Million Mix difficulty, which is considered harder than some of the 19s that came after it despite being rated 18.
    • Animal Station manages to one-up IMPRESSION→LOCOMOTION as the first lv. 19 song in the game with 919 notes on Million Mix.
    • Also THE IDOLM@STER Hatsuboshi-mix, released as a Special track available on New Years 2019, which not remixes the original with traditional instruments and is played with 13 dancers, but ramps up the difficulty with 876 notes on Million Mix difficulty.
