• Fridge Logic: Why didn't Gil get rid of his convertible sooner? If sunlight triggers his transformation, a car with an open top is the worst kind of vehicle for him to have.
  • Or even ignoring that, why didn't he ever think to put the top up?
• Moral Event Horizon: Though it's not really his fault since he can't control himself, Gil murdering the dog during his rampage is about the turning point for the film where there is no saving him. Shortly after, he bumps into the little girl and that kicks off the final chase scene that results in his death.
• Special Effects Failure: Oddly enough, not the rubber suit. Trudy is introduced as a singer at the bar where Gil goes to drink away his sorrows and her mimed piano playing is honestly hilarious given how fake it looks. She sort of just wiggles her arms back and forth with the camera high up so you can't see her hands. It's confusing that they didn't just have her sing and a piano player accompany her since it's so clearly apparent the actress can't play the piano.
