• Complete Monster: Ray Zeal, the angel Raziel, from The Shotgun Arcana, is a corrupt angel who aims to become the god of torture and murder. Invading Golgotha in pursuit of the skull of the first murderer, Raziel slaughters those around him, swaying others to cannibalism and bloody depravity. Having many killed, including children, Raziel also has a kind schoolteacher tortured to death and intends to raze much of the world to the ground by infecting them with the Hate Plague from the skull, all for an ascent to his own godhood.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Ghost Dance Judgement was released during a particularly tumultuous time in Native American-White relations as many revelations about Native American schools as well as their abuses were coming out. The book deals with the genocide perpetuated against them by the United States.
