• Bizarro Episode: Series 2, Episode 1 manages to be this while also serving as a Recap Episode. Instead of the normal documentary, the episode is a long form news report focusing on John and recapping some of the major issues from the first series. However there are many bizarro elements such as John, who is usually anti-politics, above board, honest and loyal, being portrayed as a backstabber with his hand in the till. The Team is blamed for the ticketing issues that were established prior and after as caused by the Minister, and John is shown to have a large family for the only time, while all other episodes show no hint of children or a spouse.
• Fridge Brilliance: '4 Corners': The tape was leaked by Nicholas so he could force the three protagonists into his scheme. The complacency of the ABC staff? They never planned to air the footage, they already had their story and were using the tape to distract Nicholas.
  • Can be taken even further as it seems that Nicholas himself was brought on to this project fairly recently, perhaps to serve as the fall guy since the media was getting close.
• Fridge Logic: In-universe, the show often raised some interesting questions, such as 'Should a genetically engineered horse be allowed to race?' 'Can a transsexual still compete even though she can't defend her title?' and 'How do we deal with the media?'
  • '4 Corners': Say Nicholas' scheme wasn't revealed and John, Gina and Bryan became part of the fictional department to bring in a republic. How could he pull it off? Eventually they'd figure it out when nothing happened.
