• Harsher in Hindsight: Finn's real parents being portrayed as a caring and loving father and mother along with a heartwarming reunion in the afterlife along with his twin sister makes the canon reunion even more heartbreaking when his real father Martin is revealed to be one of the most despicable person Finn has ever met and then even harsher when it's revealed that Martin was once kind but various circumstances changed him into the person he became.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: One of the main theme in this fan fiction centers around the Citadel of Truth. Later however, another citadel concept has been released, this time a prison for criminals that commit the most heinous of crimes. The author eventually acknowledge this fact in one of his notes.
