- Ass Pull: The Sudden Downer Ending to 'The End of Time'. A future version of Sanies shows up out of nowhere, gives his past self a gauntlet that can wipe out all life in the universe and they do just that.
- Complete Monster: Sanies begins his career by consuming his future master's assistant and practicing the spells he taught him on various unwilling victims, leaving them dead or in various awful states from him absorbing their life and magic. Sanies proceeds to massacre a village in the Dragon Lands to gain Celestia's attention and to take over her mind. Failing at this, Sanies tricks Luna and Discord into resurrecting the Storm King, allowing him to go on a magic-fueled rampage before betraying him and using his power to destroy the world. When Sanies's master returns, Sanies uses Chrysalis's body to disguise himself as a corrupted Star-Swirl and uses corrupted illusions of the other Pillars so he and his master can convince Stygian to become the Pony of Shadows again. Sanies then possesses Luna's body, killing Captain Goodking numerous times within a dream world to burn time while making the moon slowly descend upon Equestria to crush it. In his final outing, Sanies uses the power of the Seals of the Planets that his future self gave him to wipe out all life in the universe.
- Crazy Is Cool:
- Sacanas. He has been described as a pony Jim Carrey and he managed to teach Sanies everything he knew and depowered an evil version of Celestia.
- Dead Poop as well, courtesy of being a member of the group of mercs Sacanas hired and for being an Expy of Deadpool.
- Crowning Moment of Awesome: Any time our heroes fight Sanies.
- The fight between the Mane Six and Stormy was pretty awesome as well, especially since it was originally an Offscreen Moment of Awesome.
- Sacanas and a band of mercenaries he hired taking on Nightmare Star.
- Magnificent Bastard: The silly-seeming Sacanas manages to be Captain Goodking's most competent adversary. Swaying his future apprentice to his side after tricking the apprentice's father into being turned to stone, Sacanas later uses time magic to evade guards keeping the spells he wanted to teach Sanies. Though eventually betrayed and murdered by Sanies, Sacanas returns to life with style: leading an alien invasion to act as a diversion while he traps the heroes in dream worlds catering to their greatest desires and convinces Stygian to once again become the Pony of Shadows to become Sacanas' personal attack dog. Though eventually defeated, Sacanas shows remorse for his actions and gracefully accepts being sent back to the time of his death, even laughing as he goes.
- Nightmare Fuel: Sanies. He has access to magic that is implied to have been once used by King Sombra himself and he wishes to destroy Equestria For the Evulz. There is also the fact that he is scarily competent and his interactions towards people he intends to possess come off as predatory.
- And then there is his Mind Rape of The Storm King, which forced him to live through the deaths of the various people Sanies had murdered before reliving his own death.
- The state of his possessed subjects are also pretty creepy. Along with green Glowing Eyes of Doom, their expressions are blank and they walk with a Zombie Gait.
- Sacanas' death at the hands of Sanies at the end of The tragedy of Sacanas. Along with being painfully Taken for Granite, there is also the fact that it was a slow process and he couldn't move a single muscle in his body as Sanies absorbed his magic and life force.
- And then there is his Mind Rape of The Storm King, which forced him to live through the deaths of the various people Sanies had murdered before reliving his own death.
