- Designated Hero: Tom's Ahab-like behavior can make him come across as an insufferable Jerkass at times. On the DVD commentary, Jonathan Sothcott comes right out and says "He is a bit of a bastard, isn't he?"
- Harsher in Hindsight: Near the start of the film, Caroline asks Tom what would happen if the werewolf was actually her. He smiles, and makes a gunpoint with his finger before saying "pow." Near the end of the film, Caroline is infected by the werewolf & becomes one herself, which tragically ends with Tom shooting her as he joked about doing in the beginning.
- Nightmare Retardant:
- The werewolf is played by a friendly looking german shepherd.
- One DVD release
uses this stock photo on its cover. Same photo is also used by the "Insanity Wolf" advice animal meme.
- Retroactive Recognition: One of Michael Gambon's earliest film roles. He was already a well-known stage actor but only acted infrequently in movies until the 1980s.
