- Wangst: A couple cases in Redeeming the Lost, after the climax. Varien becomes a dragon again and Lanen wails and carries on as if he was dead, saying her children are fatherless. Vilkas feels betrayed and renounces his friendship with Aral because of her Anguished Declaration of Love, though he knew about her crush before. What's more, she agreed with him that it was a terrible thing to do.
