YMMV / T-Rex: Back to the Cretaceous

Go To

  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: While all of the dinosaur scenes are obviously supposed to be spontaneous and somewhat trippy, the Pteranodon stands out. It shows up, hovers over Ally for no apparent reason, then flies away. It's never seen or mentioned again, and doesn't seem to serve any purpose besides giving Ally more whimsical stuff to reflect on (and show off the special effects, of course).
  • Nightmare Fuel: The trailer. It's from the point of view of a small child, voicing over a black screen. She tells herself "I'm not gonna look, I'm not gonna look, I'm not gonna look..." and then opens her eyes. Cue a Tyrannosaurus rex roaring in her face.
Kid: (after closing her eyes again) I shouldn't have looked.
  • Viewer Species Confusion: The Dryptosaurus were thought to have been raptors and were even identified as Deinonychus by Wikipedia, despite being identified as such by the tie-in book plus being associated with Charles R. Knight. Didn't help they have killing claws on their feet.
