YMMV / Sunset Shimmer Is Mad About Everything

• Broken Base: There were a LOT of debates in the comments as to whether Sunset's behavior towards Twilight and other characters was justified or not. Also as to whether Twilight's companions would be quite that tolerant and unwilling to start a fight about it.
  • There was also some division over the climactic part, as the author wanted to make it clear every character was doing something important and this drew out the "ponies struggle against natural disaster" theme longer than everyone wanted to read about it.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The last few chapters (as well as several of Justice3442's one-shots released around the same time) showed that Starlight got a LOT stronger when angry. All Bottled Up pretty much made this canon.
  • The whole premise of the story involves Sunset being an alicorn thanks to the events of Friendship Games. The third EQG special, Mirror Magic, has Sunset returning to Equestria... and she's still a unicorn.
  • The entire premise of The Beard With a Jerkass Hanging Off of It is vindicated by canon when Starswirl the Bearded is revealed to actually be a huge jerk to everyone.
