** Malgus certainly has quite the attractive posse when he invades the Jedi Temple. It includes a hot Twi'lek sidekick (his lover Eleena Daru) and a very attractive redheaded bounty hunter (Shae Vizla).
** Several of the Sith-aligned players' potential companions also fit this trope, such as Kaliyo Djannis for the Imperial Agent. If the Sith Warrior turns Jaesa to the Dark Side, she [[JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope swan-dives off the slippery slope]] and straight into this.
** Princess Vaylin of Zakuul has gathered the immediate interest of many players. Does not help that this AxCrazy Force prodigy directly taunts the Outlander about them possibly having a crush on her.
** Lampshaded by Darth Acina, a fairly attractive woman in approximately her forties (she appears to be roughly Satele Shan's age), when the Imperial PC first meets her at the start of the Dread Seeds sidequest chain. The PC can [Flirt] that she's well-preserved and they were "expecting another dried-up old Sith", and she replies that if more Sith cared for their appearance the order might have an easier time attracting recruits.
** The female Sith Inquisitor has this effect on many players due to her sarcastic and somewhat seductive voice.
** The female Imperial Agent also has an incredibly smooth and seductive voice that she can use for some actual seduction at numerous points. There are also plenty of FauxAffablyEvil Dark Side options that allow her to commit cold-blooded atrocities while sounding perfectly polite and composed.

** A lot of the Post-Onslaught story content. It started off simple, with the renewed war between the Republic and the Sith Empire. Furthermore, Malgus hints at an upcoming calamitous galactic conflict that would dwarf even the renewed Republic-Empire war. However, after Objective: Meridian, the story just keeps jogging in place with disconnected events of the War, the Emperor's attempted resurrection, a Mandalorian uprising and Malgus going rogue. Not to mention all of these subplots are separated among flashpoints, which many regard as tedious and boring. Many people were hopeful that Legacy of the Sith would help tie up the loose ends and organize the narrative, only for its release to do the exact opposite and leave even more questions to be answered.

** Darth Malgus, surprisingly enough. Though well-received at launch for being an intimidating Vader-esque enforcer of the Sith Empire, Malgus became more polarizing among the fanbase when he took over as the GreaterScopeVillain of the post-Onslaught storylines. Many felt that Malgus already completed his arc in the Onslaught storyline and that the writers keep shoving him into every subsequent event with only the flimsiest justification. It also didn't help that he continuously foreshadows an upcoming conflict and has been planning a grand conspiracy...which hasn't been resolved for over ''4'' years (as of this writing).

* SeasonalRot: KOTFE and KOTET were controversial for multiple reasons. These varied from the seeming AssPull nature of Zakuul,[[note]]Huh? The Sith Emperor had a whole other robot and Force-using army in the middle of nowhere and he's attacking both the Republic ''and'' the Empire he himself built?[[/note]] to the [[ScrappyMechanic forced soloing for the story missions]], to [[DealWithTheDevil Valkorion's offers to help the PC]] being so telegraphed as SchmuckBait they're [[{{Narm}} unintentionally hilarious at times]]. Also, the storyline doesn't honestly make a whole lot of sense for non-Force-using classes to be involved with, particularly a chapter where Satele Shan and Darth Marr send the PC on a sort of vision quest that ends with them building a special weapon to use against Arcann. A new lightsaber makes a modicum of sense, but a special Force-imbued blaster really doesn't.

** The subsequent Onslaught and Legacy of the Sith expansions weren't well-regarded by fans. Unlike previous expansions, both lacked consistent story arcs or central villains and instead settled for random unconnected plot threads like the Emperor's attempted resurrection, a Mandalorian uprising and Malgus going rogue. It also didn't help that Malgus was constantly involved in most conflicts with only the flimsiest of justification and his grand conspiracy hasn't been resolved for over ''4'' years (as of this writing).

You have to first go to Tatooine and find a TomeOfEldritchLore to get a buff from it, then hunt down four Sith spirits in the jungle and get their buffs, ''then'' track down four talismans corresponding to each of the four ghosts, and only then can you even summon the boss--who as previously mentioned is so tough you're recommended to get an operations group of two dozen together. The achievement and title for beating the Ancient Threat is consequently one of the rarest in the game.

** Darth Malgus from False Emperor. One of his mechanics is that he will try to make a player face their destiny... by which he will ''duel them one on one'' and keep the other players from intervening. It truly feels epic... when he doesn't pick a player who is lagging or is panicking from not knowing what to do. Or worse, [[OhCrap he chooses to duel the healer]].
** Soa from the Eternity Vault operation is a very unique fight. It involves the floor collapsing and players have to jump to different floating platforms and take fall damage. Some players will end up getting trapped inside a mind prison and other teammates have to destroy the prison. During the final phase; the tanks need to lure him to an AOE in which he will get [[HoistByHisOwnPetard hit by his own debris]] and become temporarily disabled. *** Further broken by the mini-romance arc and breakup you can have with him. ** Skadge. Tank companions are useless, since bounty hunters are bulky ''enough''. Broonmark for similar reasons, though Broonmark isn't as dislikable as Skadge characterwise.
** Qyzen, Quinn, and sometimes Kaliyo, Corso, Bowdarr, and Khem Val - for simply being ''too good'' at their jobs... before the ''Knights of the Fallen Empire'' expansion. The classes they accompany utterly ''need'' them, as squishy Consulars and Inquisitors utterly need someone to keep the heat off of them, especially for Shadows and Assassins who must strike from behind. For Smugglers and Agents, a tank is ''needed'' because otherwise they get beaten up by enemies. Quinn likewise because he is the healer - and you get him very early, combine this with the Sith Warrior's ability to wear heavy armour and you will probably not drop him. (even when he [[spoiler:tries to kill you.]]) While they may be likeable characters, some people dislike them simply because they would like to use some of their other companions at times, but prior to ''Knights of the Fallen Empire'', it was simply impractical to swap to a non-tank or non-healer companion for most people unless you were playing an already tanky class.
*** It was also notable that prior to ''Knights of the Fallen Empire'', the medics also could use an ability that would deal extra damage (contributing to DPS) and could [[StanceSystem swap to a stance that would make their shots and this attack deal more damage]].
** The Ranged Tank companions were a MasterOfNone intended primarily to tank via control effects and deal AreaOfEffect damage. Unfortunately, they wound up falling behind most other companions since they lacked the mitigation of the Tank companions and the damage output of the Damage companions. Imperial Agents and Smugglers ''could'' easily burn enemies down quick enough (since they dealt way more damage than the Tank companions), but otherwise they mostly sat on the ship. This got changed in ''Fallen Empire'', when they were made more durable and given the option to swap roles.
