YMMV / Star Trek: The Next Generation S1E19 "Heart of Glory"

Go To

  • Awesome Music: One of many examples by Ron Jones — in this case, the BGM in certain scenes with Worf and Korris subtly hint at the primal nature within Worf's heart, helped by the return of Jerry Goldsmith’s Klingon theme from Star Trek: The Motion Picture and prominently heard during Korris’ escape from the brig and the subsequent phaser shootout. However, the highpoint of the score has to be "Geordi-Vision", an absolutely beautiful piece that plays when Geordi activates the visual acuity transmitter, allowing the others to see the world through his eyes.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Korris and his compatriots turn renegade out of frustration for the prolonged peace the Klingon Empire has enjoyed in their lifetimes. Had they waited just a few years, they would've gotten the chance to fight in a whole mess of wars: the Klingon Civil War, the Klingon-Cardassian War, a war with the Federation and the Dominion War.
  • Narm: The Staggered Zoom effect used when Worf does the death howl for Korris always looked silly at best, but the resulting similarity to the later "MENDOZA!" scene from The Simpsons renders it utterly impossible to take seriously nowadays.
