- Awesome Music: Naturally, even if it is recycled from the previous games and even the show.
- Contested Sequel: Fans are divided on whether it's a worthy successor to Battle for Bikini Bottom and the Movie Game or if it's a mediocre platformer that fails to live up to its predecessors or even the Blitz Games-developed Creature from the Krusty Krab. One thing that fans tend to agree on is that it's at least better written than its namesake TV special, featuring actual Call-Backs to classic episodes instead of a clipshow of events that the writers retroactively made up.
- Porting Disaster: The PSP version, which was handled by a different company not only has ugly graphics for 2009 standards, but also has 10-second music loops, low-quality sound effects and the MuscleArms power up missing the eye brows.
- No Problem with Licensed Games: While not anything fantastic, it is still considered worth playing, and is to considered to be leagues above the special it ties into, which is considered one of the lowest points in the series; the PSP version, on the other hand...
- So Okay, It's Average: The general consensus by fans, that being that it is still worth playing (and far better than the special), but is weaker that Heavy Iron's previous games.
