YMMV / South Park S 20 E 2 Skank Hunt

  • Anvilicious: "People take internet life way too seriously". Real world transgressions go unnoticed in one of Gerald's scenes, quitting Twitter is treated like suicide, breaking someone's electronics is treated like murder, Heidi Turner is ignored by a roomful of people memorializing her on Twitter despite also being present in the room...it goes on.
  • Awesome Music:
    • Overlapping with Funny Moments, Gerald trolls to the sounds of Smokin by Boston in a montage that ends with him on stage with the band, playing his keyboards like an organ.
    • Gortoz A Ran by Denez, easily among the most powerful songs South Park has ever used.
  • Jerkass Woobie:
    • It's hard not to feel at least a bit of pity for Cartman after his Apple products are destroyed by his friends as punishment for something he didn't do, especially if you believe that his Heel–Face Turn before that was genuine.
    • The boys and Craig's gang too. Destroying all of Cartman's stuff without proving he was guilty was uncalled for, but they're plagued with guilt after they realized they were wrong and then their girlfriends break up with them because they think they don't care about stopping the troll.
    • The girls as well. Them and their mothers get trolled endlessly on social media by Gerald For the Evulz, leaving them distrustful of the boys because they still hang out with who they believe is the real perpetrator is Cartman. However, they then apply Guilt by Association and collectively cut ties with all the boys, even the ones in different grades or classes from Cartman, leaving them all heartbroken.
  • Nightmare Fuel: The scene with Cartman and the boys in the woods. The suspenseful music, Cartman being oblivious until the end, the boys' eerie calmness. And then Craig starts stabbing Cartman's tablet with a knife, making it look like he is stabbing him in the belly. After that, the other boys join in, with Cartman giving out heart-wrenching screams that is also akin to him getting murdered, and then immediately fainting. They even bury the electronic remains outside.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: A minor example. Though Clyde and Kenny are shown among the broken-hearted boys, their latest girlfriends Lisa Berger and Tammy Warner aren't shown at all, and the episode only shows the aftermath of the breakup. Since the show makes a reference to Nichole's relationship with Tolkien, it would've been nice to see them. The fact that Season 26 implies that they both have since moved on from them anyway (with Clyde being back together with Bebe and a background conversation implying Kenny likes another girl) only cements this.
