Adorkable: Of all people, Obsidian is seen as awkward and endearing to the audience. For example, his rehearsal of how he would propose an alliance with Vale, as well as plenty of things he does once they actually do team up. He was correct when he said that he wasn't like the typical Career.
Heartwarming Moments: A lot of Vale's moments with her family or with Kit. She hugs him to comfort him when he comes onto the stage after he is reaped and encourages him whenever he is scared during the time leading up to the Hunger Games.
Tear Jerker: Obsidian's reaction to winning the Games. He realizes Vale is dead while he's alive and lays listlessly in bed for days. He also refuses to be called his name anymore and considers Obsidianto be a different person than himself, all while commenting that as an "outsider" he feels bad for him. His denial and depression hurt to read.
