• Awesome Music: "Store The Sun", the theme that plays during the duel between Ma Kwan and Jack.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Jack, especially after his duel with Ma.
• Genre Turning Point: The film is renowned as the first martial arts film to successfully deal with the rising popularity of MMA, which meant that the average viewer would be far more knowledgeable than in the past of what real martial arts fighting looks like.
• Narm: Lo's death from Jack, who just suddenly rushes from the side of the set like a maniac and stabs Lo in the stomach.
• Signature Scene: The film's Lancer vs. Dragon fight between Ma and Jack, with both men graphically ripping and beating the crap out of each other, which is easily the most talked-about moment in the entire film.
• Tear Jerker: The film is full of them, especially towards the end, and the end itself is the biggest.
