YMMV / Seven Crimes and Punishments – Living Together

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: As per tradition in Fanfiction, some of the characters, if not all of them, seemed to have notably different personalities compared to their canon counterparts(I.E. Margarita is seen as more of a Ditzy Genius than a Broken Bird. Albeit still a Deadly Doctor).
  • Creator Breakdown: Word of God had revealed that she had cried a few times when making sadder chapters.
  • Fictional Country: Many of the Countries and Continents in the Canon series are based on real-life nations, with Maistia being America, Evillious being Europe, and Akuna being Asia. The newer worlds in this story follow the same suit:
    • Chanban City/Capriccio Realm - It bears many references to North America, mostly New York City and Brooklyn, New York. It even has its own moniker: "The Big Orange", a reference to Kagamine Rin's character item and New York City's moniker: "The Big Apple".
    • Yingmu - An oriental themed Kingdom built by Jun and many survivors with and upon the ruins of First and Second Period China.
    • Crystalis - An Magitek Empire that seems to be similar to Magic Kingdom Levianta due to its uses of Magic and Tech with a Mediterranean-based culture. The only difference is that it's a peaceful place made of beautiful gems and alabaster stone, and the culture is based on Greece instead of Rome.
  • Nightmare Fuel: Examples include:
    • Chapter 10 is full of this, mostly due to the fact that the basement is overrun with female Black Widow Spiders who are due for egg laying, and the fact that the Black Widows started biting the shit out of the Sinners after being driven out of the Basement by Margarita's Gift-Bomb experiment is totally jarring. The author even stated that it was inspired by her Arachnophobia(Fear of Spiders), and that she finds Black Widows to be the scariest.
    • The Halloween Chapter which features the infamous ouija board and Flatwoods monsters, of course, the latter switches to a shootout similar to the Romani Ranch sidequest from "Majora's Mask".
    • Cherubim's angry breakdown near the end of Chapter 20 after discovering his brother's plot to kill him, causing Behemo's Black Box Banica stole to overheat, which gives us the implication that will cause the box the shut down and trap them inside. Imagine what would happen if they never make it out?
    • The introduction of the fabled Demon of Discord, the very first demon of sin, near the end of Chapter 21. What he does next in Chapter 22 is a complete nightmare to Allen. Not only that, but Tom's more demonic traits are mostly inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu, and to some minor degree; Hachishakusama.
  • Tear Jerker: The entire mini-arc wherein Gallerian and Nemesis learn that Ma was a Hereditary Evil Raiser the whole time. Gallerian, in particular, goes into a Villainous BSoD upon discovering that his lover was just playing him like a fiddle all along.
    • Becomes Harsher in Hindsight too, seeing as the story was written before it was revealed that Ma was Gallerian's mother too.
  • These Tropes Should Watch Their Language: A lot of characters, mostly Nemesis, seem to have a long record of muttering insults and curse words. Being a T-Rated story, however, extreme words such as the F-Bomb for example are censored to avoid trouble, this, of course, goes the same for foreign curses.
    • Humorously, Cherubim often asks his peers if they had kissed their mother's for cursing.
Cherubim: "Do you kiss your mother with that mouth? Pfffffft."
    • Alexander has a a strict policy against swearing to the point where even he himself must pay up The Swear Jar.
