Minority Show Ghetto: According to George Lucas, why this film was not picked up by any major studio. Given the lukewarm reception it got once finally made, it seems the studios passed it for much more pragmatic reasons.

Moment of Awesome: As noted in the poster, the producers obviously think the Red Tailers shooting down jet fighters with propeller planes definitely qualifies.
So Okay, It's Average: Both the film critics and the audience reacted roughly the same - the film indulged so hard in being an "old school" war movie that it also embraced all the dated cliches and plot devices, making it fall flat emotionally in the end. It's good on the technical side with some really nice special effects, but the less said about the quality of the storytelling, the better.
Visual Effects of Awesome: While it doesn't have as huge a budget as most blockbusters, it being a pet project of George Lucas, who also ponied up much of the cash to get it produced, it looks to have ILM's full force behind it regarding the battle sequences, though some of it looks a bit too polished.
