  • Accidental Innuendo: In Chapter 1, The yak's response to Ray getting cocky when was trying to put out a fire near his groin area during a demonstration match might come off a tad bit dirty depending on how its interpreted.
The Yak: HOOOOOOO! What you doin' down there little fox? Gettin' Cocky! That's what! HOO!
  • Awesome Ego: Morales may be smug and rather condescending, but it sure didn't stop him from becoming a very popular character amongst viewers of the comic. Given that he's clean-cut and has swagger, a very attractive wife and two very powerful bodyguards, its quite evident why.
  • Broken Base: From chapters 1-2, you have one part of the base who thinks Ray's imprisonment is justified since he caused a lot of property destruction and law-breaking, often shouting "realism" and the reasoning that no one seeing Ray's heroism negates it... and then you have the other part that thinks it isn't, that the society of Meva City and the law is a complete trainwreck, and that property damage shouldn't overshadow the fact that Ray has done a better job at fighting crime than anyone else at the moment regardless of the mishaps that occurred.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Even though Alice "Ally" Kitchen has played a relatively minor role in the comics since the first 3 volumes have been released, she's become one of the author's most popular characters among the Rayfox fanbase to the point that for all intents and purposes, she's Scott's mascot.
  • Informed Wrongness: In the first two chapters, the narrative of the comic is that Ray's persecution at the hands of Morales and the people of Meva City is justified and that the consequences for his recklessness and disregard for the law warrant consequences. Yet the story fails to actually present any negative outcomes bad enough to convince the reader to side with the people of Meva City or S.O.S in that regard (or at least convince the reader to see the negatives as outweighing the positives) and only gives readers the impression that S.O.S and Morales are acting on Lawful Stupid at best or being oppressively authoritarian at worst. Even then, this is not helped by how most moments of collateral damage have come across less as recklessness from Ray and more Power Incontinence.
  • Unintentionally Sympathetic: In theory, the first two chapters are meant to establish Ray as someone who's vigilantism is reckless and who refuses to acknowledge that his destructive behavior has consequences. In practice, its hard not to sympathize with Ray 100% as a misunderstood hero who suffers from Power Incontinence and who Meva City would be worse off without despite constantly being painted as being out of line and insubordinate.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic:
    • In Chapter 1, Jak is meant to be seen as a Jerk with a Heart of Gold Team Dad boss to Ray and the rest of his employees, but his abrasive and demanding attitude, even toward people like Liz who haven't done anything to justify his behavior toward them, makes him largely come across as strictly a Mean Boss with his redeeming moments being miniscule at best. This is not helped by how, even when he recognizes he's made a mistake (like having Ray spar with the yak despite knowing he's got difficulty controlling his powers), Jak hardly does anything to make amends or apologize.
    • Asuka. In chapter 2, she's supposed to be seen as a Team Mom that's keeping Ray out of trouble by forcing him to hang up his vigilante act and by imparting wisdom. But she can be seen as a pretentiously incompetent officer giving a rather short-sighted and patronizing lecture to Ray in Chapter 2, given that her team was nowhere to be found when the Port Town Gang attacked the Meva Arsenal and kidnapped Morales. She almost got her entire team killed by Liev by leaving Ray with them, and it took the very vigilante she tried to stop saving her team to help her realize just how badly he's needed around. Despite her change of heart at the end of chapter 2 and convincing Morales to send him to the S.O.S, it's hard to see her as anything but self-righteous when she's unable to actually step in when needed save for when Liev tried to kill Ray and Liz (and even then, that was just so she could arrest Ray).
    • The very fact that the Morales and the entirety of Meva City just choose to paint Ray as an arsonist simply because of the property damage without having anyone look into what actually happened or bother to find witnesses/recounts of the events that were shown in the comic (especially since he technically saved lives in both) tends to leave a bad impression of both early on for readers whom have only read the comics at that point when Ray's arrest and imprisonment occurs.
      • Morales' attitude against Ray puts him in a negative light, even after Chapter 3, given how antagonistic towards Ray early on in Chapter 1, from indirectly spewing demagoguery about him over taxpayer money to taunting him in a demonstration match, and it becomes easy to lose all respect for him by chapter 3 regardless of any redeeming qualities he has or displays later. In chapter 4, it's revealed he actually knew Ray saved him, but he chose to keep throwing Ray under the bus simply because it would have been inconvenience to him due to losing Meva City's support by going back on his statements and stance; Morales' attempts to make his own actions look sympathetic only made him look worse in that it comes off as putting self-gain over integrity.
      • The people of Meva city tend to come off as ingrates and an Easily Swayed Population as well; its true that Ray caused a lot of destruction in his attempts at heroism and he did hurt some people inadvertently, but be that as it may, they weren't killed. Not one of them bothers to really look into what actually happened in full detail to fully comprehend what was going on and they still blame him for a train being cut in half despite that Halberd did it infront of everyone when the Port Town Gang kidnapped Morales... one cant help but think its not just Ray that's the issue; its the Meva Province itself and its people as well.
