  • Angel/Devil Shipping: Heixiaohu is the son of Season 1’s Big Bad and fully devoted to his father’s causes (though he’s more of a Noble Demon at first), while Lantu is the main heroine and resident in-all-but-name Yamato Nadeshiko. They’re also the Fan-Preferred Couple.
  • Fan-Preferred Couple: There are legions of fans who prefer seeing Heixiaohu and Lantu get together.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: In Vietnam, the series is a childhood classic for kids born in the early 2000s, when Chinese dramas — wuxia included — were incredibly popular. It has quite a good dub especially compared to the English one, mountains of fanfics note , and plenty of products tried to leech off the show’s popularity. Even though the hype has vastly died down ever since there is no season aired after the fourth one, it’s never really forgotten.
  • Sequelitis: None of the sequel works reach the same popularity the original did, probably because they never quite captured the same level of intensity that the first season had after the controversies.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: The production company’s attempt to make the series more kid-friendly ironically is met with disapproval from the older part of its fanbase, as they were drawn to it exactly because of how intense the original was. The fourth season is the straw breaking the camel’s back; the story takes a sharp turn from its original path by making the titular characters helpless in one way or another, involved into a Love Triangle, and the five other swordsmen who barely got screentime the previous two seasons now reduced to background characters completely - making it the least likable season in fans’ eyes.
  • What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: It’s advertised as a kid series, yet featured an unhealthy amount of dead people, bloodshed, Heroic Sacrifice, along with drinking and gambling, all of which got it in hot water once with the media.
