  • Awesome Music: The theme song.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: On a team dripping with angst and headcases (including the lead), Hikaru Yoshimoto stands out for being the team's leader/cheerleader/Cool Big Sis. She was the MVP of the previous Softball Champions, and turned down a scholarship to play for this "experiment", but she never mentions any regrets. She also picks up the loser of the love triangle on the rebound. (And really, she grabbed him above the rim)

  • The Woobie: Poor Yuki, who was bullied by her middle school softball team and verbally abused by her parents to the point of attempted suicide.
  • Woolseyism: The ADV dub improved a lot of the jokes, and translated Koharu's "Breaking Wave Swing" as the "Wave Motion Swing" which is much funnier. They also had Yoko add another benefit to being on a famous team, hearing Tiffany Grant say "and shoe contracts!" is priceless.
