YMMV / Power Rangers Hyperforce

Go To

  • Awesome Music: The theme song is a remix of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers 'Go Go Power Rangers' (patterned mostly on the Power Rangers Dino Charge theme).
  • Critical Research Failure: At one point in episode 7, Jack refers to Gem’s Sky Morpher as “Nice bracelet”. The Sky Morpher is a joystick.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Abigail
  • Harsher in Hindsight: In Episode 19, the Rangers are asked if they know about Tommy's history and, so they aren't meta'ing, Andre tries to roll and flubs it, making it so that Eddie has absolutely no idea who Tommy is beyond their encounter with "Dr. O". Bad roll of the dice? After the revelation that Lord Drakkon's first victim in the storyline was Tommy, maybe not...
  • "Holy Shit!" Quotient:
      Advertisement:
    • Episode 2 ends with Jack flatlining.
    • Then after the Angel Grove arc is completed, Episode 5 ends with Alpha shutting down and the team falling into a different dimension.
    • Episode 6 ends with Vesper revealed to robot before being taken over by Venjix and nearly killing Eddie.
    • Episode 12 Marv's brother, played by Yoshi Sudarso shows up as Time Force Silver.
    • Episode 18 revealing that the next session will be an official crossover with Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: Shattered Grid with a scenario written by the official comic team.
      • This is topped in the next episode by revealing it to be a two-parter with Jason David Frank returning to play Lord Drakkon.
    • Basically everything in episode 20.
    • Episode 22: Vesper's death
  • Just Here for Godzilla: Some people want to see it just to see Bulk (even if it's just his actor) finally be a Power Ranger.

  • Memetic Mutation: X is going to be the Sixth Ranger. It died down completely when Yoshi Sudarso was confirmed as Hyperforce's Sixth Ranger.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • More meta, if anything. Assuming that Hyper Force is canon with the rest of Power Rangers, that means that Wes and Jen didn't stay reunited after the Time Force/Wild Force team-up.
    • In episode 6 Vesper being forced to try to kill Eddie, on the same day she asked him on a date.
    • Vesper's first ever friend dying when he was really young, presumably leaving Vesper alone. (Though that may not be a real memory).
    • All of Chloe's scene with her fake mum in episode 10.
    • Marv not being able to teleport out his brother in episode 12. Their goodbye also qualifies.
    • The end of episode 19: the Coinless' ally, Hicks, turns out to have been altered by Finster 5 to become Pumpkin Rapper and, overpowered by the Rangers, decides to take a Taking You with Me, exploding and killing all the civilians the team attempted to rescue. Then more of Drakkon's army arrives, surrounds the team... and is joined by Lord Drakkon himself.

    • The end of episode 22: At the tail end of the episode, Vesper ends up dying. In front of Eddie. This took everyone so off-guard that they had to set up an emergency fireside chat
