• Fanon:
  • The cartoon is often considered to be the unofficial debut of Bugs Bunny (or at least a very early prototype of him), even though the character only has superficial similarities to the future Bugs and his own creators considered him a separate character from Bugs.
  • You can argue that the rabbit also spawned Woody Woodpecker, since he shares the famous laugh that Mel Blanc gave Woody,^note Blanc actually developed the laugh as a teenager, as a way to play with the echoing acoustics in the hallways of his high school and this short's director Ben "Bugs" Hardaway later worked for Walter Lantz and helped Lantz with Woody's creation.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: At one point, the hare uses his ears like a helicopter rotor.
