- Heartwarming in Hindsight: Bill wanting to fully discover the mysterious Pokemon, who is very clearly a Dragonite to fans of the franchise. As the show continued, Dragonites were not only seen in full view, but became commonly domesticated Pokemon even by other Pseudo-Legendary standards, with both Iris and Ash capturing one.
- Hilarious in Hindsight:
- The giant Dragonite was originally seen as Early-Installment Weirdness. Come Pokémon Sword and Shield, one can be forgiven for thinking it was an *extremely* early preview of Dynamaxed Pokemon. Possibly even funnier when one considers that Bill was given a British RP accent in the English dub, since the Galar region (the setting of those games) is based off of the UK.
- Also, Bill says that the number of Pokémon may be no limit. How true that ended up being.
- Unintentionally Sympathetic: While it's true that Ash was getting big headed about finally having a full team of six Pokemon, it's hard to not feel bad for him when everyone (even his own Pokemon) side against him durring Misty's extremely exaggerated criticism. Especially her bogus claim that Brock felt sorry for him, when it was actually Ash who felt sorry for Brock.
