• Harsher in Hindsight: Roger, after hearing that Peter is HIV positive suggests that they might find a cure for AIDS. This can get really depressing when you realise it's been three decades since this film came out and, while the prospects of HIV positive people have improved, we're still long way away from a cure.
• Hollywood Pudgy: This is probably what the filmmaker's were getting at with all of Maggie's sack-like dresses, but it doesn't hide the fact that Emma Thompson is utterly stunning.
