  • Breather Level: Level 12 of the first game and Resurrection. You're given infinite gunfire to make short work of the maze's enemies- a maze that is extremely linear in design.
  • Growing the Beard: In terms of story, Pac-Guy 2 attempts this with the second and third parts, which steer away from the Random Events Plot of the first game and to a lesser extent the second game's first part. Later games in the series also have a greater amount of polish in both the player's controls and enemy AI.
  • That One Boss: Kan on Level 13 of Resurrection: You're on a ship filled with pellets to eat, while Kan is wandering about, shooting at you with guns, rocket launchers, and homing missiles. The rockets fire fast and clip through walls while the homing missiles seek your location and destroy you if you're not behind a wall. You also have no way of defending yourself from Kan's attacks, and if Kan kills you, Kan can lock you into the starting point and deplete the rest of your lives if he's standing over it.
