- The Scrappy: Japanese fans of the original Playstation game HATE Nueko because the game forces you to have her in your party in order to progress, when the original was entirely about your clan and their story, and the game was still advertised as such. Because they didn't get the first game, non-Japanese players don't seem to hate Nueko as much.
- Sequel Displacement: This is actually a sequel to Ore no Shikabane wo Koete Yuke, a PS1 game that never made it stateside.
- Spotlight-Stealing Squad: Nueko is seen as this by some players.
- Viewer Gender Confusion: Kitsuto has a very androgynous voice and appearance. For the record, he's male.
