- Broken Base: Wahrheit Oder Pflicht, which went into more of an alternative rock direction than their other works, has a very mixed reception amongst older fans.
- Older Than They Think: Oomph! have the merit of establishing NDH, inspiring several German Industrial Metal bands, in particular the much more popular Rammstein; the latter popularised the genre, even outside the German-speaking public, and their success ended up helping Oomph! themselves, thanks to growing interest towards German Metal music.
- Tear Jerker: "Auf Kurs". Not so much the video though, however.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: There's a minority of fan who are displeased with the sound changing at the turn of the millennium, especially starting from Wahrheit oder Pflicht. They still prefer the EBM/Industrial albums from the 90s.
