• Alternate Character Interpretation: A lot of people imagine Orville Slump as instigating his friends’ accidents so he could take their lunches.
  Mike Nelson (as the monkey in traction): It wasn’t an accident… The kid tried to kill me for my corn-beef on Rye.
• Angst? What Angst?: Orville doesn't seem the slightest bit fazed by all his friends either dying or winding up in the hospital, taking the losses as a mere chance to score some free grub.
• Anvilicious: California's "Do's and Don'ts" for bicycle safety and registration achieves Glurge status.
• Fan Nickname: Phillip Floogal has "Pimp Chimp" because of his hat.
• Narm: The names are trying for Dr. Seuss whimsey. Instead, they just sound like they were made up on the spot.
• Nightmare Fuel: Many people find the monkey masks scary.
  • To wit, they have black pits for eyes, except for one just as he's about to meet his fate—and he ends up looking◊ almost like Judge Doom.
  • Also Horton's Deadpan Snarker narration, and how Orville just "gets fat" on his friends' lunches at the end like they just gave them to him.
• Suspiciously Similar Song: The opening music sounds suspiciously like George Gershwin's An American in Paris.
• Values Dissonance:
  • For a bicycle safety film, there seems to be a marked lack of helmets being worn by the children. Then again, this was the '60s... People still register their bikes in case of theft; these days, people also have a chip put in their bike too.
  • The parts about registering bikes and not riding with others. Nowadays, bike registration is dead (and most people will instead insure the bike or take precautions to have the police recover it quicker) and tandem bikes make riding with a friend more encouraging a prospect.
