YMMV / Once Upon a Time S4 E6 "Family Business"

• Character Rerailment: Belle had received a lot of criticism for spending time more as a Satellite Love Interest for Rumple, while occasionally popping up to deliver some exposition - as well as seeming a little too perfect. This episode goes further into her backstory before she met Rumple - tying back into her Heroic Wannabe status from "Lacey" - and showing her as being more flawed than she had been in the past.
• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • In "True North" Emma talks about how she never had a foster family that actually cared and that she was only ever a meal ticket for them. It turns out she did have someone who cared, but she can't remember them.
  • This episode applies Broken Pedestal status to Belle, with regards to her putting Anna in danger trying to help herself. The second half of the season would do the same to Snow and David - on a much larger scale.^note Getting Maleficent's daughter sent to another world in trying to put Emma's potential for darkness into her.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The live-action remake of Beauty & the Beast would end up tackling Belle having a Missing Mom too - and it would also involve her making a sacrifice of sorts.^note In this case making her husband and daughter leave Paris for the country to save them from the plague that was killing her.
• Narm: Hook's line about how Helga's portrait looks just like Emma. When we finally meet Helga in the next episode, she has no resemblance to Emma beyond blonde hair. The line also makes no sense, given that Ingrid's reasons for choosing Emma were about her powers as the Savior and not any resemblance to her sister.
