• Hilarious in Hindsight: Ruth in the film gets angry at Jane for sneaking out to see Gloria Steinem, given the risk of violence from either opponents of feminism or from riots of attendees attending, years later Ruth and Glorias' paths would intersect (and they even meet each other) in Mrs. America (where Ruth is portrayed by Tara Nicodemo).
• Questionable Casting: The casting of Felicity Jones (who is not Jewish) to play the very Jewish Ginsberg did not sit well with some. (Natalie Portman, who actually is Jewish, was originally slated for the lead.)
