  • Awesome Music: Where to begin?
    • “Little Talks” is one of the band’s most well-known songs and for good reason. Seriously, that chorus can get stuck in someone's head for days!
    • "Thousand Eyes", with special mention going to the song's building climax.
    • "Winter Sound" and its epic guitar riff.
    • "Crystals" with the drumbeat and brass creating a catchy beat which compliments the comparatively melancholy lyrics.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The band is very well-known in America, but has enjoyed only minor popularity in their native Europe.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • "Organs." Horribly depressing melody and theme combined with Body Horror! Yay!
    • The building "dundundundunDUNDUN… DUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUN…" at the end of "Thousand Eyes" sounds like the score to the rising of an Eldritch Abomination.
  • Refrain from Assuming: There are many who believe that their Signature Song "Little Talks" is named "Bodies Safe to Shore" or "Don't Listen to a Word I Say". To be fair, the title only appears ONCE in the versus while the other phrases appear in chorus.
  • Signature Song: "Little Talks" is their most famous song, with "Mountain Sound" and "Dirty Paws" also being rather well-known.
  • Tear Jerker: The "King and Lionheart" video. Like, all of it.
    • "I of the Storm." The singer is feeling alone and useless, and may be haunted by traumatic memories.
    • "Organs", due to the mournful-sounding melody.
    • "Love Love Love" from My Head is an Animal deals with a romance that is either one-sided or impossible, depending on one's interpretation of the lyrics, both interpretations are quite heart-wrenching.
    • "Little Talks", about a woman dealing with the loss of her lover.
    • "Visitor", a song about drifting apart from a lover until you barely know them anymore.
  • Visual Effects of Awesome: The music videos for "Little Talks" and "King and Lionheart" are breathtaking to look at.
