• Harsher in Hindsight: As people start to realize that men can and are victims of sexual assault and rape the Black Comedy Rape jokes tend to come off as much more mean-spirited and mocking than funny. It especially stands out since the movie itself treats the act absolutely seriously. The scene also stands out as the only rape scene not to be cut by MST3K.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: A radio station called Frank? Well, a few years later, radio stations such as Jack FM and Bob FM would start springing up on the radio dial. An Ottawa station even did rebranded itself as Frank FM as a one-day Halloween prank. Frank FM is now a New Hampshire rock radio station.
• Values Dissonance: In an age of gendered double standards regarding sexual violence being increasingly scrutinized and challenged, Mike and the Bots gleefully cracking jokes implying that a man enjoyed being gang-raped is a lot more uncomfortable to watch, especially since 1) the movie itself treats the act with the gravity it deserves and 2) it's notably the only rape scene to not get cut from the show.
