  • This series is very popular in the Philippines, the TV network where the series first aired decided to rerun it. There was even a Philippine remake of the series in 2017!
  • Also, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane became a bestseller in South Korea due to Min-joon identifying with its protagonist.
  • The series was so popular in China (getting literally billions of views on various online platforms) that the Chinese government called a conference to discuss the "crisis" of a foreign TV show being so popular. China Uncensored did an episode about it here.
• Memetic Mutation: "Sorry, okay? Sorry."
• Moment of Awesome: In Episode 9, Jae-kyung threatens to kill Min-joon and Song-yi if they get in his way. He gets into the elevator on the 23rd floor, and when he gets to the 1st floor Min-joon is standing right in front of the doors, waiting for him. Min-joon then issues his own ultimatum: that he can't be killed, and he will expose Jae-kyung's true nature if Song-yi is hurt.
• Nightmare Fuel: Jae-kyung. First, he locked up his ex-wife in a mental institution. Then the string of murders and his efforts to cover them up.
• The Woobie: Hwi-kyung. He loved Song-yi for 15 years, and she never once liked him back. Despite that, he still tried to be there for her and looked out for her well-being. He doesn't try anything on her, and respects her personal boundaries. Even when Song-yi loses everything,Hwi-kyung was still there for her and even said that he would provide everything for her. He also gets horribly injured when he saves Song-yi when she falls on set. Then, as the series progresses, Hwi-Kyung finds out that Jae-kyung, his older brother whom he respected and admired, locked his ex-wife away in a mental institution to keep her quiet and might be trying to harm Song-yi. But it gets worse, as Hwi-Kyug then discovers that his oldest brother, Han-kyung, who supposedly died while driving drunk, was actually killed by Jae-kyung. And Hwi-kyung hears the entire recording of his oldest brothers death; which includes Jae-kyung telling Han-kyung how he's dying and why he's killing him. Later, Jae-kyung tries to kill him. Poor guy.
