YMMV / Monsters, Inc.: Scream Team

Go To

  • Hilarious in Hindsight: In the intro, Sulley told Mike "Remember what happened on our first day at college." Twelve years later, Monsters University was released in theaters.
  • It's Easy, So It Sucks!: The game doesn't exactly suck, but the whole point of the game is to scare these things called Nerves in every level, which for many gamers, can come off as a little too simplistic and repetitive.
  • No Problem with Licensed Games: The game is one of the many copycats of Super Mario 64, but instead of lazily rehashing the basic concept to make a quick buck the developers instead opted to produce wonderfully unique levels to give each world its own feel; in other words, they copied Super Mario 64's methods, but kept the final product its own distinction from its competitors. It also helps that the game has a very snazzy jazz soundtrack and stellar graphics for its time.
  • Porting Disaster: While mostly identical gameplay-wise and having the benefit of better models, the PS2 port suffers from much darker, dingier lighting and several minor touches like individual nerve behaviors and Randall walking around the island have been removed.
  • Tear Jerker: The fact that the game ends with Waternoose graduating Mike and Sulley...and then showing the clip from the movie where Waternoose reveals his true colors and gets arrested by the CDA.
