- Hilarious in Hindsight:
- The comic was created well before Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was originally announced which eventually used some of the elements found in the comic. Lampshaded by Reynard in a filler.Reynard: "I just want to know if someone at Retro reads the comic. Maybe I'm psychic."
- Samus playing Tetris before her appearance in Tetris DS was announced.
- The Electromorph upgrade JD cobbles together for Samus has her performing a Shinespark-style maneuver from a standing start and, in practice bears a striking resemblance to the Flash Shift upgrade she would obtain years later in Metroid Dread. The only difference is the Electromorph has offensive capability at the cost of draining her suit energy.
- Similarly, after destroying B'yayk and getting the Morph Ball, Samus remarks on how she'd wondered when she'd get it back...which happens to echo a lot of Metroid Dread players' sentiments on how long it normally takes her to get the Morph Ball there.
- The comic was created well before Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was originally announced which eventually used some of the elements found in the comic. Lampshaded by Reynard in a filler.
- Memetic Mutation: The filler strips introduced the Internet at large to the eccentric reimagining of Mega Man Battle Network villain Flashman.exe: Shoulderman.
- Take That, Scrappy!: After Dark Samus whiffs 3 laser shots at Samus's ship, the Duck Hunt Dog shows up to laugh at her, and ends up on the receiving end of her next laser.
- Becomes Hilarious in Hindsight when Dark Samus gets added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which already had the Duck Hunt dog present as a fighter.
