YMMV / Mayday Parade

Go To

  • Covered Up: A rather strange example of this trope is that "Jamie All Over" is technically a cover. It was originally written by and recorded by Kid Named Chicago, of whom most members joined Mayday Parade, with the lead vocalist and writer on the original Jason Lancaster doing only backing vocals, but almost no one knows of the original or that this song had any other recordings.
  • Dead Horse Genre: While they aren't against the whole Emo label, Derek Sanders describes them as Pop-Rock.
  • Epic Riff: "Black Cat's" breakdown, intro to ''If You Can't Live Without Me...", the bridge to "One Man Drinking Games", "Just Say You're Not Into It".
  • Signature Song: "Jamie all Over" and "Miserable at Best" are the biggest two contenders, despite the former actually being a Kid Named Chicago song.
