• Crosses the Line Twice: In one of the bad endings, Keima mistakenly assumes that Ichikawa is the bomber. After investigating his room and finding incriminating material, he decides to arrest him. During the interrogation, Detective Gonta is accidentally killed by Ichikawa. When Keima and Numata enter the room and see the body, Numata is so shocked that he dies of a heart attack. Shiori is heartbroken at losing two of his coworkers, and gives up her police job to become a nun. Keima is so distraught at this chain of events that he leaves Shibuya for some soul searching... and returns years later, dressed like Ryuji, ready to enact his revenge.
• Tear Jerker: Be ready to whip out the tissues for Ryuji's story, which is full of these.
• Values Dissonance: Yoshiko's attempts to diet and constant self-sabotage are played almost entirely for laughs. This can make it pretty uncomfortable to play at times.
