• Ass Pull: Right before the fake final boss fight, the heroes need to fire a laser weapon that they have constructed to break through the barrier that Krom has around himself in order to be able to fight him. The laser weakens it but does not destroy the barrier and all hope seems lost when Plana informs them it will take too long to recharge the weapon to fire again...until Locke fires a laser of his own, which allows them to face Krom. While it was established by this point that Locke had become a Gearoid and could have a laser weapon like the one he used, at no point was it ever established he could have the power to destroy Krom's defenses, which were so strong that they believed they could only destroy them with the use of an ancient weapon designed for such a purpose. When asked about what he just did before the ensuing battle commences, he only replies that he can explain it later, but no explanation is ever given afterwards.
• So Okay, It's Average: A common opinion about the game, with many citing it as blander than its predecessor, I Am Setsuna, already considered fairly average.
