Littlest Pet Shop 2012 S 3 E 8 Two Pets For Two Pests

Go To

YMMV page for the Littlest Pet Shop (2012) episode "Two Pets for Two Pests."

  • Angst? What Angst?: Minka takes Sunil's insults very well, though by Act 3, she presumably has vented it watching Sunil struggle.
  • Broken Aesop: The moral of the episode is supposed to be about appreciation and that you shouldn't be quick to ridicule something just because it doesn't seem impressive, with Sunil learning not to mock Minka after failing miserably when trying to imitate her "deceptively difficult" painting skills - except the episode then proceeds to insult Sunil's magic and portrays it as something so simple, even Minka can do it without practice. After Sunil apologizes for criticising Minka's painting style, she reassures him that she probably couldn't do magic like him, only to humiliate him further by effortlessly pulling a coin from behind his ear, basically indicating that his magic isn't as special or complex as Minka's painting.
  • Fridge Horror: Cashmere and Velvet's names are likely due to the richness of their fur. However, chinchillas have become endangered in the wild due to poaching so their furs can be made into clothing—just like with cashmere and velvet.
  • Genius Bonus: A Biskit Twin (which one is unknown) states that Cashmere and Velvet are rare pets, which ties into their endangered status. However, it's unclear whether she says they're rare because they're endangered or rare because they get pampered.
  • Jerkass Woobie: Sure, Sunil is needlessly rude to Minka and he deserved the humiliation he goes through, but it's hard not to feel some sympathy for him when he can't get a single drop of paint on the canvas and he becomes so frustrated that his eyes start welling up with tears. Minka rubbing salt in his wound by showing that she can do magic better than him even after he apologised doesn't help - especially when previous episodes have shown just how insecure Sunil is when it comes to his magic abilities.
  • Strawman Has a Point: When Blythe calls out the Biskit Twins for getting pets suddenly and giving them up just as quickly, Brittany correctly points out that Blythe suggested they participate in Pet Appreciation Day.
