  • Critical Dissonance: While the game has gotten a mostly mixed to negative reception from critics, it has received a generally more favorable reception amongst fans, with the game getting a 9/10 rating on Steam.
  • Enjoy the Story, Skip the Game: A common point made in reviews. They almost invariably agree that the story and presentation is excellent and perfectly matches the series, on top of offering plenty of fun character moments and bits of fanservice throughout the numerous side quests, while their opinions on both the overworld exploration and the underworld dungeon crawling range from "functional yet unremarkable" to "buggy, laggy, unplayably broken mess".
  • Funny Moments: At one point, Akko turns into Diana in order to trick Hannah and Barbara. While they fall for it, Akko then immediately runs into the actual Diana... Who just looks at her sternly until she drops the disguise.
  • Memetic Mutation: INT 2.Explanation
  • The Problem with Licensed Games: While the story and presentation has been well-received for matching the series, the game itself is unfortunately considered to be very unpolished, suffering from clunky controls, poor design choices, constant backtracking, poor optimization and various glitches that can break the game.
  • So Okay, It's Average: Many consider the game to be this. It isn't irredeemably awful and the story and presentation do capture the spirit of the TV series very well, but a lack of polish and clunky gameplay mechanics hold it back from becoming great.
  • Visual Effects of Awesome: Initial reactions have compared its visuals favorably to Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-, having a 2.5D, cell-shaded aesthetic that looks exactly like a playable version of the series.
