- Nightmare Fuel: The series provides different examples in each story, ranging from relatively mild (Umbrae's Death), to medium (Mentis's Death, though arguably well-deserved), to High (Animula's suicide to save her soul), to flat out insane (Irae's Death).
- What Do You Mean, It's Not for Little Girls?: The dolls might be popular with more Nightmare Fetishist preteens, but they probably look like something for your six-year-old daughter or sister. The protagonists are all little girls, but they're Dead All Along and creepy. The dolls are also expensive and made for collecting.
- What Do You Mean, It's Not Symbolic?: Many references to Paganism and Satanism are present in the Series.
