  • Broken Base:
    • The quality of this event. Some say So Okay, It's Average some say it was dreadful.
    • The destruction of Oa. Some say Mogo would be a better headquarters while others prefer it to be the center of the universe.
  • Base-Breaking Character: Relic is suppose to be a tragic character. Then his origin comes out and ends up paining him as a self-righteous idiot who tried to sway an entire government with no evidence of the limits of the emotional spectrum. Then there are those that see him as a Galactus rip-off.

  • Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy: Like the end of the storyline said, every time the lanterns use their powers, they bring the entire universe closer to destruction. Every heroic action is could actually bring about the end of the universe if not careful. Coupled by the destruction of the Blue Lantern Corps, this comic hasn't sat well with fans.
  • Fridge Logic:
    • Why on Earth is everyone still alive? The Life Entity is dead, meaning that everyone must die.
    • How is the emotional spectrum limited? In Wrath of the First Lantern, Volthoom was the emotional spectrum and all he had to do is recharge by being an Emotion Eater.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Just about every heroic action the lanterns did has been retconned as slowly killing the universe.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Fans weren't pleased when the emotional spectrum was retconned into being limited.
