YMMV / Lifelover

Go To

  • Awesome Music: Hot damn yes, a perfect example.
  • Epic Riff: Too many to count, but most contenders are:
    • "Nackskott"
    • "Karma"
    • "Museum of Past Affections"
    • "Shallow"
  • Broken Base: The idea of having to do another live show in London following the decision to reform for the tenth anniversary is this, mainly due to B.'s widow finding it as if Kim and the other members are trying to cash in on Lifelover, while other see it as a good attempt to show fans, who never saw the group perform, witness what made them (in)famous.
  • Creepy Awesome: The band used to perform with Kim bleeding from many self inflicted wounds, and yet fans hail them as one of the biggest acts in Black Metal.
  • Fanon Discontinuity: Promo 2005 is usually ignored by fans due to it being less like the band's later work.
  • Nightmare Fuel: Imagine being in front of the band live and then seeing the singer cut himself to the point where he's bleeding and acts like it's nothing. Holy damn.
    • Kim's screams throughout some songs are pretty unnerving too, such as his panicked and terrified screams in "Mentral central dialog".
  • Signature Song: One from every studio release, no less; "M/S Salmonella" from Pulver, "I Love (To Hurt) You" from Erotik, "Mental central dialog" from Konkurs, "Myspys" from Dekadens and "Expandera" from Sjukdom.
  • Tough Act to Follow: While Sjukdom is great, some fans aren't so high on it due to Konkurs being before it. It usually gets some love after B's death.
    • Kall seems to be this as well. While received a huge heart-warming reception by both fans of Lifelover and upcoming fans, the band has yet to reach the huge height that Lifelover achieved.
  • Tear Jerker: The band's abrupt end. Considering how close Kim and B were, it's understandable why Kim decided to close the band.
    • The entire last performance, you can tell the band was not in high spirits, considering that B died two days before. Kim was shown to be highly depressed and even showed frustration when the audience wasn't quiet. Kral (the band's live drummer for the 2011 tour) in particularly gives a touching speech on how despite his passing, B. will be remembered by the fans and through Lifelover's music. For a band that is all about depression, seeing them like this is pretty devastating..
