YMMV / Leisure Suit Larry 5: Passionate Patti Does a Little Undercover Work

Go To

  • Aluminum Christmas Trees: As funny as they sound, all the locations in the Aerodork pamphlet are real.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: After Silas Scruemall comes up with an idea on how to use Larry for his goals, the game says he's thinking fast and furiously. About a decade after the game's release...
  • It's Easy, So It Sucks!: This was a major complaint leveled at this game: The designer's intention was to make the game play more like an interactive cartoon rather than a complicated adventure game, and make sure as many people as possible finish the game, therefore removing old Sierra adventure game standards such as death or Unwinnable situations.
  • Sequel Difficulty Drop: The first game in the series where it's impossible to lose by design, though there are a few oversights that can cause the player to paint themselves into a corner.
  • Unintentional Period Piece: Trying and failing to use the taxi's cell phone makes the narrator mention that all his life, Larry wanted to try out a cell phone. The game came out in 1991, about 10 years before mobile phones and 20 years before smartphones started being commonplace. There are also parodies of MC Hammer and the 2 Live Crew, and the President and VP are supposed to be George Bush and Dan Quayle.
