  • Anvilicious: DJ usually maintains an air of political neutrality, but when it comes to discussing the likes of former President Donald Trump and other hard-right politicians and pundits, he comes down hard on their various violations of legal and moral norms, clearly establishing his disdain for them as being very personal in nature.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: In "Most Dangerous Toys of All Time", when talking about the legislation for toy guns that demands they have orange muzzles to distinguish them from the real ones, Devin decides to take verbal pot shots at the US police for their trigger-happy tendencies.
However, the law does not stop the end user from modifying the weapon, so today the Johnny Seven One Man Army would be illegal unless they paint the muzzle orange. So don't come crying to me if the police shoot your children as a result... I'm just kidding, the police will shoot your children anyway.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • A little while after he released a video examining whether or not MatPat of Game Theory had plagiarized his video about the legality of Fortnite dances, Devin uploaded a video about the legality of Willy Wonka's conduct in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, shortly after Film Theory had uploaded a comprehensive video on the same topic. Devin noted in the comments that the irony of the situation was not lost on him.
    • In his video discussing Donald Trump's RICO lawsuit against Hilary Clinton and dozens of other defendants, Devin says "they claimed it was RICO and, of course, it's never ever RICO". Six months later, Trump himself and 18 others were indicted in the state of Georgia on state RICO charges; Devin even acknowledged that some commentators had to "fall on their swords", featuring a clip of Ken White finally admitting that something actually is RICO.
    • In one of his earliest reaction videos, Devin comments that, "You're never going to see these kind of Perry Mason moments in court." A few years later, he did a video about the civil trial against Alex Jones over the Sandy Hook massacre, which included an exchange that the media dubbed a "real Perry Mason moment" (after Jones himself told the cross-examining attorney that this was "your Perry Mason moment").
