  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Night Mind suggests that the Sex Survey Results video is one giant Take That! towards the creator of Garfield himself, Jim Davis. Based on everything we could know about the man, keeping in mind that Jon Arbuckle is a straight Author Avatar for him, right down to nearly having the same life and occupation, and for all of his optimism, Lasagna Cat suggests that Davis is fully aware that Garfield, the cat and the franchise, will outlive him (which he does, as he's trained all his assistants for it and is looking for a succesor), and that he will be only ever known as the man that makes an unfunny newspaper comic strip using the same material and techniques over and over again, and the feeling is eating away at him. He is troubled about his measly score of two sex partners in his life and he's coming to grips with his own mortality, and that's how the sex survey came to be in the first place, to compare with other people and make himself feel better about his low score, but nothing will ever get the voice of Garfield constantly belittling him to go away. Garfield doesn't need Jim/Jon, and there will always be another Jon Arbuckle to replace him. Suddenly, the message "CONGRATULATIONS FOR YOUR CAT CARTOON" takes on a whole new meaning...
  • Contested Sequel: Season 2 is fairly divisive. Some find the overwhelming increase in budget and even more surreal themes of the videos to be hilarious, while others find them to be going against exactly what made the original videos as funny as they were. Despite this, there's a generally unanimous agreement that it was good to have more Lasagna Cat.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Max Landis appearing in the Sex Survey video to talk about his sexual history is this now that his long history of sexual abuse has been made public.
  • Heartwarming Moments: 11/01/2007. 12/04/1980 is heartwarming in its own weird way, portraying Garfield and Odie as two friends making a video in the early 2000's.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • The comment section of pretty much all the videos will include at least one comment saying "I ordered [noun] with my haunted hamburger."
    • OH NO I'M USING THE CAT [NOUN]
    • Now where could my [noun] be?
    • In the SCP Foundation fandom, the Garfield of this show is often used to represent SCP-3166, an otherworldly entity that protects the Garfield franchise.
  • Nausea Fuel:
    • Jon eating his own shit in 08/14/1986.
    • The last scene in Sex Survey Results. It depicts a close up of a woman giving birth, and after the woman leaves, it shows the child in a toilet full of afterbirth.
  • Nightmare Fuel: The entire series. It's been compared to Don't Hug Me I'm Scared in terms of horror.
    • Right from the first episode the Garfield puppet is unsettling. Its grinning face and skinny moving arms really look uncanny. It will make people think twice about complaining about the live action CGI Garfield being "scary".
    • The creepy image of Jim Davis incorporated into the ending of every episode.
    • 01/26/1995. The whole thing, but especially Garfield's eyes falling off and the creepy Davis now having moving eyes.
    • The ending of Sex Survey Results. Where to even begin? Jon answers the door like he, Garfield, and Odie have been taking turns doing for the past 3 hours, and on the other side is another Jon. The Jon outside states that he has had two sexual partners, same as when he called the hotline in the trailer for the season. The Jon inside the house laughs in response and says that he has had zero sexual partners in his life, and shuts the door in the other Jon's face. The Jon outside suddenly becomes much older, now resembling Jim Davis in appearance. He walks around while audio of Jim Davis being interviewed plays, until he encounters an encumbered man in a wheelchair, who glares at Jon, drops his suitcase, and lets the person pushing his wheelchair move him away. Jon opens the suitcase, revealing a taxedermied orange cat, which starts to haunt him. It then cuts to Jon on a mountain in the desert as the Jim Davis audio has him describe how he writes strips by visualizing Garfield and just watching him do things. Jon then encounters a naked caveman whose entire body has been painted like Garfield. He dashes at Jon but disappears just before he reaches him. He then reappears behind Jon, and whispers something into his ear, causing Jon (but not his clothes) to disappear and be replaced with a pile of dirt and worms. The Garfield-painted caveman picks up a handful of worms, holds them up like a trophy, and screams into the sky, which then cuts to a woman screaming on a toilet in a public bathroom stall, giving birth to a baby. She then gets up and looks down into the toilet, and says in unsubtitled Polish that it is not her own child, but that she gave birth to a human curse which will repeatedly consume and then vomit up her soul over and over again for eternity, then leaves the bathroom. The last shot is of an orange cat, standing on the edge of the toilet, with the baby, fully dressed in a miniature version of Jon Arbuckle's clothes, resting within the toilet on the afterbirth. The baby Jon then opens his eyes as the video Smash Cuts to a solid orange screen. All of this from a Garfield parody!
    • 08/14/1986 is very dark and disturbing, showing Jon eating his own feces and writing with them on the walls, a Freeze-Frame Bonus of a bisected corpse and ends with Jon receiving a gory lobotomy.
  • Squick: 02/26/2003 is deliberately made to resemble JAV Porn videos, as well as a Japanese prank show.
  • Tear Jerker: Combined with Freeze-Frame Bonus in 06/08/2001.
